Each student is also given a small participation award. The Annual Spelling Bee will be held at the Roberta G. Doering School (formally the Agawam Middle School) at 7:00 pm.
Scholarship Program
The GFWC Agawam Junior Women's Club donates Scholarships
to Agawam students who will be attending a two or four
year college following their graduation. All Agawam
students, both male and female are eligible. No affiliation
with the GFWC AJWC is necessary.
Safety Bug Program
Children entering kindergarten are usually excited
yet uneasy about riding on a school bus for the very
first time. This safety program for First Time Bus Riders
allows children and their parents to practice the proper
way to cross the street, approach the school bus, and
ride on the school bus. The GFWC Agawam Juniors' have a mascot
"Safety Bug" who guides the children and rides
on the bus with them during the program. Please join us on a date to be determined in August, 2012.
Breakfast with Santa
The first Sunday in December, excited children and
their families can enjoy a pancake breakfast, and a
visit with St. Nick. Photos with Santa and a special
mail box to the North Pole are seasonal highlights at
this Breakfast With Santa fundraiser. All letters to
Santa are answered "personally" then mailed
back to all children who include a return address -
anywhere in the world! Tickets can be purchased in advance
or at the door.
Holiday Homes Tour
In December, we held a very successful Holiday Home Tours in the Agawam/Feeding Hills area. Over 100 people stopped by to view the beautifully decorated homes. We hope to make this fundraiser an annual tradition. Please join us!
